Hi,
I have 3 lenses, two of them are digital and no problem. However, with my manual Asahi Pentax Macro F4 100mm lens it will lock up sometimes under this condition: I push the green button to get the camera to set the shutter speed and 'sometimes' it makes a double mirror flap sound and 'sometimes' after that when I push the button to take a photo it will simply lock the mirror up.
I can put my ear up to the camera and hear a faint sizzling noise inside. The only way to get the camera back is to take the battery out and put it back in - then immediately the camera releases the mirror back down.
My camera is out of warranty and I don't think it's economical to have it repaired. As long as it only does this occasionally I can live with it, but I do wonder what it is about the manual lens that causes this.
Additional info: firmware is up to date. Occurs with both my lithium batteries - haven't tried AA batteries. I have considered just manually selecting my shutter speed to completely avoid this.
