Slow Shutter speed

Moderator Contact Form Message

I have a Pentax KR and had a speck of dust inside my camera. I tried the dust removal process and that didn't help so I went to the Sensor Cleaning. I raised the mirror and uses an air squeeze bulb to try and dislodged the speck of dirt. The only problem is after I did that my cameras shutter speed is very slow. It takes two to three seconds for it to click. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Are you sure you didn't inadvertently set drive mode to 2s timer?
It happened to me as well!

There's no reason why a bit of air will change the shutter speed, unless you bumped something in there - in which case I think it would not work at all, rather than work slowly.
When you re-installed your lens, did you per chance turn the f-stop ring off A and set a small aperture thereby forcing the camera to do a slow exposure?

You could also clarify if it's the length of the exposure that's changed, or if there's a delay before the camera actually fires (which is what surmised from your words).
