O-ME53 magnifying eyecup with K-r

Hi all

I have looked for an answer to this on PF and elsewhere online, but I'm a bit confused. If anyone can help, I'll be hugely grateful!

I've just bought a O-ME53 eyecup for my K-r. I've just looked at the instructions and a few Pentax cameras are listed there, but not the K-r.

Am I ok to use it with the K-r. I was sure I could, but now I'm worried.

One thing - the instructions come with a leaflet saying that Ricoh will be changing their name in 2013. This makes me think it might be old stock. I don't mind, so long as it works, but I wondered if I might have an older model that is not adapted for the K-r.

If anyone can help with this, that'd be really appreciated.

Thanks

Si

Thank you for replying - that's reassuring. Thought I'd messed up!

I've been using one of these with a K-r for some time. It requires you to get your eye very tight up to the eyecup to get a full view of the viewfinder which is slightly tricky. It does make it easier to focus manually which was why I personally got it. Another advantage is that I found it easier to make a shield to stop light getting in when doing exposures around 20-30 seconds. Mine is just a piece of black Plasticard cut to shape but it slots in nicely and works well.

Thank you. I did buy one of these the other day. Haven't had much chance to use it yet though.

I still found it hard to see and focus the one time I had a decent amount of time using it, but it was very dark conditions and I think it would always be an issue when it's like that.
