Problem with Pentax A 50mm 1.7

Hi,
I have a problem. I set enable aperture ring but I can't regolate F with my camera. It shows F1.7 on every photo besides I also have tried to change manually F with the ring.
I am a noob and english in not my native language so sorry for the stupid question and errors.

Hi and welcome to Pentax Forums.

What camera are you using? Knowing that might help others understand your concerns, and be better able to help you out.

Which version of the 50mm 1.7 are you using ? The M, A, F or FA ? If it's an older K-M, aperture can't be controled from the camera, you need to use the aperture ring on the lens.

If it's one of the others, make sure the aperture ring on the lens is set to the A position.

Hello and welcome to Pentax Forums.

Please confirm that this is a SMC Pentax-A f1:1.7 50mm lens and that it is on the "A" setting. With the camera set in Av mode the F-stop should be shown in the viewfinder and you should be able to change the setting with the eDial. In Tv mode you can set the shutter speed with the eDial and the camera will select the f-stop.
