Should be called "grass on a summer day" your main subject (as the title says) is completely out of focus.

thanks for the comment. I tried to make the front of the shoes in focus and the back out of focus. did that not relay well?

I think you captured the essence of your title - perhaps a little bit front-focused, but not too bad.

The toes are in focus, so you managed what you set out to do. I'd have focused on the eyelets (always focus on the eyes!

) but that's me... Nice simple colours, makes me want to kick of my shoes and wiggle my toes in the grass, if only it weren't cool and damp today.

after looking at it more, i agree the eyelets should be in focus.

looks like an excuse to reshoot!

Most likely wouldn't hurt if the eyelets were in focus but, truth be told, I kind of like it the way it is. Tells a nice story and I like that the shoe's owner is walking around in that wonderful grass.

what about the cropping? do you like how i aligned it left? as opposed to right cause the right shoe is angled to the left?

I like the slight off-centre, it'd be a little boring centred. Makes for an interesting negative shape, too, with the angled shoe.
