k-7 @ LAX conference championships
Lens: 70-300mm Camera: K-7 Photo Location: central New York Shutter Speed: 1/6000s

Took my K-7 to our colleges Lacrosse conference championship game (we won!) to see how well it would do sports. Unfortunately, our new stadium is still under construction so the background could be better - but nothing I could really do about that as we were restricted as to where we could go. I'm fairly new with the k-7, constructive criticism is welcome.

Great shots!! And I like the background, I think it gives a superb tension in these photos!! Well done.

Well you can do something about it - choose a wider aperture. Though with a 70-300, at 300 you're probably limited to 5.6 or something.

1/6000 is mighty fast, don't think I've used that high yet!

Don't know if these are cropped or not, but don't be afraid to crop to get closer.

But good stuff. Haven't actually seen a game of that, very rare here.

Good stuff! Congratulations on the win, too. I've been shooting my daughter's middle school games with varying degrees of success. At that level I can roam the sidelines pretty much at will. I can understand stopping down btw--it's an awfully fast game so it pays to hedge your bets. It's not 1/6000s fast though ;~)

Great shots.

Background not where action is

Anticipation is key. Know the game and plan where the best plays will occur.

Keep shutter speed above 1/1000 and you will do fine
