Some firsts with my newly aquired Panagor PMC auto macro 90mm F2.8
Lens: Panagor PMC auto macro 90mm F2.8 Camera: K20d Photo Location: backyard ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F16
Posted By: Rense, 05-05-2010, 05:42 AM

I found this lens in the mail yesterday. After some satisfactory results with the Vivitar 55/2.8, I decided to buy also the Panagor 90/2.8 1:1 macro lens. For shooting bugs, 90mm can be more convenient, especially when the bugs are active. Working distance is longer, so one disturbs the bugs less. After receiving the lens yesterday, I mounted 48mm of extension tubes on my camera, mounted the lens on top of it and built me a new macro diffuser.

It looks a bit funny

But these are the results:
100%

and slightly cropped (less than 25%)

What a setup! Great results. It's amzing to see all the details in the last shot. Thanks for sharing. I should make one homemade diffuser like this to go with my macro lens.

Thanks a lot! There is a How To on my blog, concerning the DIY macro diffuser.

Outstanding shots Rense! Thanks for posting!
And isn't it a phantastic lens? Not only the IQ but also how it "feels".

Thank you Norbert. Yes, this lens, as well as his shorter brother, the Vivitar/Panagor 55/2.8, are great tools!!

Thank you, glad you like them. That diffuser improved my macro photos, that's for sure. So you should try it, yes!
