Posted By: tcom, 07-28-2007, 11:22 AM

Here are a few flowers and bees taken today with the Voigtlander 125/2.5 macro. All photos are taken with K10D, and no flash at all.

First the flowers...
1/640s f/11.0 800iso

1/1000s f/5.6 800iso

1/640s f/5.6 800iso

And now the bees (could not make my mind on which to keep)...

1/640s f/8.0 800iso

1/800s f/8.0 800iso

1/800s f/8.0 800iso

Comments and critiques are welcome.

Wonderful shots. I don't think a critique is necessary here.

The exposure in 2nd and 3rd shots are really great. Love purple colour a lot. The bokeh from the bee photos are so creamy - it makes my day

You are probably the most travelled person in the forum with so many photos sharing with us.

Cheers

I like #2 a lot. Strong colors, nice bokeh, and sharp. But they are all nice. Of the bee shots I like the second the best b/c the bee is isolated from the background and the frame is nicely filled.

I like these shots! The colors look great to me on the flowers and have a nice focus. The 2nd bee shot is my favorite(of the bee shots). Thanks for sharing.

Nice shots Dominique; all crisp and well composed. I especially like the second bee shot for similar reasons to Mike.

I love the crispness of these shots in this series.
As Roentarre mentioned ... the bokeh in the bee shots is really nice and creamy.
Well done.

Wonderful colour on the purple flower - isn't that deadly nightshade? One of my favourite weeds!

I like the first bee shot best, it's like it's in a sea of white flowers. But they're all lovely.

Thank you Julie.

I have no idea what the purple flower is. It is a tiny little flower, maybe 5-8mm in diameter. The berries were shining red.

That sure sounds like nightshade - lovely plant, just don't eat the berries!

I love the first image. And it looks like the next are eggplant flowers? I have some Japanese Eggplant growing but the flowers look a wee bit different, or more specifically the stems look different. I am not familiar with the lens you used. These images are very impressive and beautifully sharp. Very impressive.

Thanks LaRee. I have no idea what the second flower is. It is just a very tiny flower and it gives some tiny red shining berries. I expect the berries to be quite poisenus given the shiny color.
