I'm pretty sure that's a Dove. Breakfast has probably been lying there all night...

Very pretty silhouette though... very nice indeed.

It's very common to see birds, especially the large soaring raptors, just sitting on a perch in the very early morning.

What they are doing is waiting for the sun to dry off their dew soaked plumage so they can soar more efficiently.

Nice moody shot by the way.

I think it's a raptor of some sort. Silhouette is just wrong for pigeon so far as I can make out - hooked raptor like beak and stiff soaring tail and broad powerful shoulders. But it's just a guess.
