Shot yesterday evening after I had a dinner with Iris. But I can't choose between these two... (ISO 640, not 800 as stated above)

choosing

While I normally like reflections a lot, I definitely like the first one better in this case. But... they are BOTH beautiful shots.

If the only difference is the reflection, than no doubt that image holds my eye longer. Although the reflection seems odd because of the separation from the subject.

By the way nice shot. It's better than 90% of mine.

#2 as it balances the image better, IMO. Well done and how was dinner! JIM

Why do you have to choose Rense? I like them both and would keep them both.

Rense, I vote for number 2 - both are nice images, but I find the second one to be truly engaging.

Thanks Jim. Dinner was fine, although the day before it was better: Lamb with Thymian-Honey sauce......

#2 is the more dynamic shot. The reflection ties the mid ground to the foreground, inviting the eye to inspect the foreground beach details. The same reflection pulls the eye back into the mid ground.

The waves in #1 is prominent and more threatening, making the casino appears precarious.

OK then, #2 will get my vote (though I would vote for the first one too) when it comes up.

I prefer the first one, the reflection in the second photo is distracting. Great shot Rense!
