Ugly Weather - Time to Get Off the Bay
Photo Location: Galveston Bay
Posted By: Sailor, 05-18-2010, 02:48 PM

A thunderstorm that chased us off the water this afternoon; fortunately, we had a great sail before this ugly sucker showed up.

Thanks, Dave. Actually, it didn't get dicey until we were motoring up the channel where we briefly encountered about 30 kt winds and saw some lightning. By the time we docked, the sun was starting to show and the wind had abated considerably.

As luck would have, today is beautiful, but we have to head home to see our granddaughter "graduate" from Predschool. Some things trump even sailing.

They tasted good even before the hatches were battened. Seriously, it always feels good to step on the dock and open a cool one after dealing with one of these things.

I would do some post processing on the third one: apply a red filter and turn to B&W, remove the unfocused handrail on the right-down corner and finally adjust lighting... it should became a really good one.

Hey, buddy - it was pleasure to dock, have a beer, get a shower and drive to the Classic Cafe in Seabrook for dinner.

Not a bad idea. I like to do B&W conversions (and a red filter is where I'd start, as well), but hadn't thought - for some reason - about applying B&W to these shots.
