Goose,

Nice series. I have been to them all and each one presents it's own series of challenges in capturing images. Nicley done.

But.... what? Nothing between Philly and Rapid City to photograph?

I went through Zion and Bryce last year and think that each one could keep a photographer happy for weeks on end. Zion, if you see both ends of the plateau could keep one busy for years.

I'll be returning this fall for an extended stay. Hope to have good weather and lots of opportunities.

Beautiful shots; beautiful scenery. I especially like the verticals 3 and 4; the contrasting vertical lines of the rocks and the lines of the clouds and blue sky. The colours in 4 are beautiful.

We did 9 national parks (Sequoia, King's Canyon, Yosemite, Bryce, Zion, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Devil's, Badlands) going to Philly from LA - so after the Badlands we had a schedule to keep and didn't make too many stops. We decided to spend the bulk of our time in the west/midwest. It was my first time at pretty much all of these places, and now of course I can't wait to get back. You're right - I could go to any one and take a million shots.

Here are a few more just to throw out there. Please feel free to critique - I'm always looking to get better.

San Pedro, California

Sequoia National Forest

Brideveil Fall, Yosemite

Fantastic shots! Those last three are great. I took a trip like that a few years back. Shippensburg (central pa) to Vancouver. We were on a tight tight schedule so couldn't stop much. made it to vancouver in 48 hours. basically non stop driving.

I took hundreds of shots of the badlands but my memory card some was corrupted

awesome photos though!

I like all of your shots. IMO the composition and light was nice on each one and the water shots with the smooth look from the slower shutter is my new favorite way to photograph moving water. Thanks for posting. We too are captivated by the beauty of our national parks.

Very nice shots. I really like the "soft" water and the color tones in #2.

Here's a couple more from Yosemite then...

El Capitan

Picture from right after the tunnel heading into Yosemite valley - you can see El Capitan, Brideveil Falls, and off in the distance Half Dome. I took it because I thought it was a cool shot and representation of how the glacier slid through and created the valley.
