I hate spiders but I found this one obliging stayed further from the end of my lens, I couldn't pass it up. And I have no idea why it looks so pixelated. I had to upload at photobucket cause I'm out of space on flickr.

Official name is : Venusta Orchard spider

Wow, Mar - I've seen a number of photos of ugly (to me) spiders on the forum lately, but yours wins the prize.

Looks like an Orb Weaver, they are pretty harmless but not nice to walk into.

Nice photo Mar! But I'm like you I hate spiders and it would probably be the last thing I'd photograph, congratulations on your bravery!

Nice capture--I don't know how much was cropped but when I crop real tight I bring out the Pixels especially when the background is light colored and solid.--charliezap

Thanks Charlie, I cropped it a lot but it was cropped in RAW before saving to jpeg. Looking at the body is where I thought I saw pixelation but looking further it looks more like his skin pattern rather than pixelation. Mostly because it's also noisy, but the noisy part isn't pixelated on my 22" Samsung LCD either.

Wow, that is noisy. Nice capture though, so I run it through noise reduction (Neat Image) to see the effect. You might wish to experiment with a noise filter for the K100d at high ISO. I have the same problem on the K200d above ISO800.

It looks better. Most of my photos aren't like this one. It was the higher ISO, ie, 800 coupled with the spider being in a shaded area.

Quite stunning composition and color wise! A bit noisy, but the photo is still amazing to me! Thanks for sharing
