Hi Everyone!

This is my first post here. I recently purchased this camera and I am still learning how to use it, and how to take better images. Here are a few pictures that I have taken of a few of my friends riding their bikes. I also ride, but I have no photos to add as all of my friends are incompetent when it comes to taking pictures.

Comments welcome!

You have some nice shots there! I especially like the last one. I like the shadow on the ground, and the perspective of the bike coming at you.

I used to live to BMX bike some 25+ years ago. You're making me feel old! But it looks like you are having fun with your new "toy".

The only suggestion I would have is to try some shots up a little closer so you can catch the expressions on your friends faces while they are riding. Have fun!

Excellant use of off-camera lighting. Well done. Great first post.

Hi Macneil. These shots are awesome. I am very impressed with all of them. What kind of flash setup do you use?

Nice capture. The 3rd one really caught my eyes, the rider seems to be way up high with the mountain as the backdrop. The only distraction I think are the distant overhead high tension wires that are above the rider's head. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Correction to my reply, I meant the forest as the backdrop and those protruding rocks, not the mountain.

Cheers,

Rene R

I have a cheap wireless kit I bought off of ebay that works quite well for what I need it to do. I've got two sunpack 35mm manual flashes. One has a slave option that can be used for a second flash. It just needs to have another flash source to bounce off the flash for it to work. I used both flashes in the second picture. I want to buy a Pentax digital flash but I would like to buy more lenses before I do that.

Thanks for all the comments. I will definitely put them to use next time I'm out shooting!

I forgot to mention that those pictures were taken with a Pentax Ist DS. I plan on buying the K10D, I just don't know when I'll get around to that
