Methinks it's a Green Darner???

and a Damsel, doing??? (Help me out here, Julie!):

I can see how people can get into these- so many varieties, and they're more co-operative than birds! Now to get some shots of other varieties...

used my FA*300 with FA 1.7 TC- most are from approx. 10 feet.

I don't know much about dragonflies, but I think it's a Blue Dasher.

I like #4 the best.

Beautiful shots Tom. I also like 4 the best. The blue background profiles the dragonfly nicely but also lights up its detail. These are excellent shots to get with a telephoto + TC. I wouldn't generally have thought of this approach. I'll have to experiment with my own TC. That FA*300 you have is a very versatile lens.
