Three Drops
Posted By: Nitrok, 05-27-2010, 06:56 AM

Well this was pretty hard to photograph - only a slight move can throw the subject oof really easily as these drops were really small.

You can view rest of the photos in my photoblog.

First of all let me say "wow!" for your capture. Simply amazing

As for the difusser, it is completely independent of the pop up flash. If the flash is high enougn w/o the diffuser than it is high enough with. It's passive, clips to the hot shoe and sits on the front the camera housing. You can adjust it's height so that middle of the diffuser is at the height of the popup flash that rises up behind it.

Peter
Thank you Peter.

Impressive! Wow, they look like pearls of water and light.
Nicely done and I am happy to know that you used the pop up flash and a diffuser.
I am so glad you shared it and I was able to see it.
Jools.
Thank you Jools.

Julie, I have one of these: PUFRETAIL Gary Fong The Puffer, Pop-up Flash Diffuser It works quite well. Clips into the hot shoe and sits on the front of the camera. It is adjustable to account for the rise of the popup. I'm sure ppl other than Adorama have it too.

Cool, thanks for the info. Looks small and simple, which I like a lot!

Yeah I was really impressed too when I tried first time this diffuser. I built it with Rense's guide.
It's good to know it gives such outstanding results - I'll have to get my scissors and glue out and make a mess and build one. Much more fun that spending money at a camera store.

This is outstanding, Joni! I've got to try a diffuser. Most of the time I never use a flash, but this kind of photo convinces me to give it a try.

Could someone please point me toward the place where Rense describes his homemade diffuser

Joni, this one is brilliant. Everyone else has used up all the adjectives I can think of so let me just say I agree with everyone else.
