Clematis
Posted By: Photo Tramp, 08-04-2007, 03:12 AM

Late in the spring I planted (in pots) two Clematis vines. Being very young plants I did not expect these vines to grow much, or to produce flowers much before next year. To my surprise not only did they really take off by growing a full 5 feet but both are blooming. This is the first bloom. The other plant still has a very tight bud but looks like about another couple of days and it too will be in bloom.

Now these were taken with camera flash and istDL with DA 50 -200mm about 5AM this morning.

Great shots of a beautiful flower.
I am really taken by Clematis flowers, being an avid gardener (after photography of course) have tried but have had no success with Clematis at all.
I believe wrong climate, being too hot and humid. Oh well! you can't win them all.

Hi David. The 2nd photography is my favorite as I like tighter crop. The details and sharpness really stands out. The purple colour is very punchy as well.

Nice Dave. I prefer the 2nd one also. You might consider cloning out the upper left corner. The other plant is a bit distracting.

Every time I see a good shot from the DA 50-200, I am more impressed.

Thank You all for the kind comments. Yes I see the distraction with the blossoms on the butterfly bush so I went out today and did a retake. Still with the 50-200mm. (That's the closest I can get to Macro right now) I also used my trusty tripod. Less shake but I'm still battling the wind.
