We spent Memorial Day morning at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford Virginia. Bedford lost the largest number of soldiers per capita on D-Day than any other town or city in the United States. This is a view of the memorial display, it shows the Overlord Arch as seen from the granite landing craft with the beach and soldiers in front. The spray of water is an air fountain that simulates a bullet hitting the water. It is a beautiful and moving place. It was sad to see the small number of WWII veterans in attendance. A salute to these men & women who gave so much.
