New place to live, new place to shoot. I can barely remember how to take pictures of things that aren't birds.

Pingflood, I absolutely love that first shot. I'm not even sure about the exposure being right but it really speaks to me. So many stories associated with it. Really well done. The last one is also a beauty. The second one, not so much. Two out of three isn't so bad though is it?

Yeah, not sure about #2 myself. It had a sort of "turtle monster" thing going for it but had a hard time really bringing it out. Thanks for the compliments.

I think #1 tells a great story. Moving from the scary, dense and crowded darkness to new possibilities in the openness and light. Really cool!

The first one is absolutely perfect - one of the very best B&W images I've seen a long time. Just great.

I agree with the rest. #1 is a beautiful but moody image. Not sure on the others though. JIM

Like the texture in in the second one and the pattern of the trees in the third one.

But the first one, wow, what a powerful image. It's one of those rare pictures that lets everyone see a different story.

Thanks for sharing!

I like the pictures, but that first shot is superlative. Evokes uncertainty combined with expectation. Reminds me of childhood and the wish to be independent to explore, while still not quite sure about stepping into the unknown.

I quite like the 1 and 3. Can't add more about the first, just splendid. The third I like because of the rhythmic tree trunks that lead the eye to the dark green trees. Wonderful contrast that show the underside of the green needle leave trees.

Stunning results pingflood.
#1 and 3 are almost surreal. Very artistic and well manipulated in PP.
Love your work.

Thank you guys so kindly. Been shooting almost exclusively birds for the past year so trying my hand at doing something else for a while. I keep thinking I should break out the 4x5 camera for these trees since they have so much detail in them and I'd love to make a very large print...
