Sri Lanka, Jungle Cats
Lens: DA 55-300 Camera: K-7
Posted By: the swede, 06-06-2010, 01:06 PM

Theese cats lived in the village at my uncles, they were not tame, but not entirely wild either.

Nr 1-4: DA 55-300
Nr 5: 16-45
Tried attachments this time. Keeping it light with 768px wide for space and speed.

Enjoy!

For feral cats they posed like paid studio models. I very much like your shots. Picking one, I will go for #4 as the colors blend so closely but the focus and the eyes define the subject.

Five is my favorite! Great cat shots, I'm guessing that you used that lens at the long end.

You mentioned somewhere near Matara? My memory seems to be getting a bit foggy!

Thanks! Had to work on them for 2 days before i could get realy intimate with them. Even then, they wouldnt let me closer than 2 meters. These cats are realy small! I guess its due to the climate or lack of "real" cat food.

Thanks!
The first four pics was used between 120mm and 300mm, the last one is with 16-45. That last cat was more a domestic cat.

This was in Natandiya, 20 minutes north from Negombo.

Terrific - as I send in another respone on my butterfly thread, you certainly know how to use your DA 55-300.
