Well I'm preparing for an 8 day Overland Track trip in a few weeks so here's some shots from the trip last year :-)

Enjoy! Critique welcome.

I'd give the whole series a 5/5! Some very fine shots!!

I especially like the last, as well as the ones with snow. The first could use a slight crop on the left, IMO.

Thanks Adam :-)

Out of interest, can people see all the images? Some of them will only half-load for me...

Some great shots, especially #4 and the last one. Thinking of doing this later in the year and still trying to figure how much equipment to take so just curious what lenses are you taking this time.

Thanks! For this trip I took the K20D, DA* 16-50/f2.8 and DA Ltd 35/f2.8, plus a couple of batteries and 8gb of memory. In the end I only used the Ltd for about 10 shots, the weathersealing of the K20 and 16-50 combo were just a lot more practical in the wet. If I was doing it in summer though I think I'd use the Ltd a lot more...

This year I'm taking my E-3 and 12-60 SWD (I switched to Oly over christmas) and a tripod. I definitely missed not having a lightweight tripod last year...

When you're covering a fair bit of distance each day it's a pain to switch between lenses, so versatility is the key in that regard. Also, because you're generally restricted to the track, lots of the cool things to photograph are often a long way away, so don't be fooled into thinking that you'll only need a wide-angle for landscapes ;-)

Cheers for the information. I'll be going in mid september and will be making a lens purchase before then. The weather probably won't be fantastic so still trying to decide between DA15, the WR 100 macro or perhaps a 16-50.

My tripod is also quite heavy so may also look into a lighter weight one.

Very nice set of shots. I like em all... but the 2nd to last, the one with the towering snow covered peak, is absolutely SPECTACULAR!!!

Thanks :-) The second to last is Cradle Mt itself, shot on the first day while walking around Cradle Cirque.

As said above, the 2nd to last is really really a great capture! There's something very surreal about it.
