Missed out on enough DoF on #1, but the sharpness and rendition of #2 and 3 are absolutely stunning. Congrats on this fine lens.

Thank you all for your comments. Telling me what is your favorite helps me tremendously.

I do want to remind everyone that I am new to the lens, so please don't take these images as what the lens can do....in a few months I can show what it REALLY can do

Ash, your input is extremely useful. I was wondering whether the focus just being on the face is effective or not and your reply tells me what others think about it - very useful, thank you, buddy!

Here is one that got better DOF but the tail is hidden behind a leaf

Great picks! I loved the one of the sparrow, especially.
How much PP did you use on that one (I'm trying to learn)?

It was taken under bright light, so it lacked contrast and the colors were sapped. So, I added contrast, boosted saturation and sharpened it a bit.

Here is the original

Very good work! It really ads a lot to the picture.
I have to learn how to do these things.

It's worth it.

When I decided to pursue photography as a hobby the first thing I did was to learn post processing with photoshop even prior to the DSLR purchase. Lots of tutorials available online, at first it feels like a daunting task, now it is second nature to me.

The final look of an image depends heavily on PP, but as you can see the initial image has to be good as well...you can never make a crappy image look good.

Nice job on the Sparrow.

The new lens looks like a winner.
