Embers - Long Exposure
Lens: Fujinon 135 EP (enlarging lens) Camera: Canon XSI Photo Location: Redmond, WA ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: >6s Aperture: F22
Posted By: stover98074, 06-20-2010, 12:03 PM

Taken last night at the tail end of a backyard fire in the Pacific Northwest. The exposure was 13 seconds and shot with a bellows on a tripod.

While not an insect nor a flower the attempt does employ macro equipment and techniques.

Very cool shot?? I thought it was more a warm shot! (only joking)

I think I will leave this shot on my monitor for the winter, it will warm me up

Nice shot, well done.

Thank you for the comments - next time I think I will try a small amount of flash to expose the colder wood - but then again, when I plan a picture it sometimes does not live up to the original random shot.

Bruce - Regarding your screen savor - I tend to forget that these forums are international - but come on - I did a check of the forecast in Newcastle and even though you are in winter your forecast is for the 60's...
