I took this a couple of years ago, one month after my son became diabetic. The shot is special to me due to it's life-affirming stance, and is also one of the images that reignited my passion for photography.

lovely composition... love that golden glow... my beloved nephew, now almost 12, has type 2... very active, very healthy... doesn't let anything stop him.... hoping for a cure in their lifetime... dave m

Thanks everyone. You are all very kind. He's doing very well now. It's been a bit over two years and was very scary in the beginning but he's healthy and happy now. As I said, it's a very special photo for me.
