Butterfly (1 IMG large file)
Posted By: celetron, 08-11-2007, 10:48 AM

After a few attempts the last week I finally managed to shoot a butterfly keeper... However I had to crop to 1/3d of the original image and possibly I won't have the chance to enjoy a large size of print.

Pentax *ist DS with FA 50/1.4, F2.8, ISO 200

Very nice, I like the shot a lot. I would say the shot is a keeper.

For me, the slight blur at the wing tips gives the butterfly some motion and makes the shot

Thank you guys,

The funny thing with the photo is that that particular one is the 2nd of almost hundreds of butterfly shots the last 2 weeks... I have to say that the 50 mm lens is not the most suitable for the job (I don't know about the macro one though). Most of them had very confusing background and find it very difficult even to convert them to B&W.

Beautiful shot, I agree the blur on the wing tips really gives movement to the shot.
