Another from my first couple of rolls of medium format film. This was shot with Fuji Vericolor 160 color negative film. Scanned with an Imacon Flextight:

Very creative. Why's the shot so grainy? You wouldn't expect 160 film to look like that, nor to see a scanner create that soft of effect.

There's similar grain on all my Vericolor shots. I'm not sure what to attribute it to ...

Strange. I've used Fuji and Kodak 160VC film, which wasn't one bit noisy at all!

I've seen that kind of "grain" on scans from much lower-end scanners, such as Epson V500. Surprising to see it on scan from Imacon Flextight...raising the black level should make it go away.

At the lab I was working at, I have the feeling the scanner was broken. The staff had to fiddle with it to make it work at all. And/or they gave me bad instructions.

In any case, I would NOT recommend Toronto Image Works to anyone for Imacon Flextight scanning. And let me say their DIY scan pricing isn't such a hot deal either.
