I go to the local library and use their wireless on my laptop, since I don't have internet at home. Discovered there is a Barn Swallow nest right outside the door, 4 babies in it, and mom feeds them every few minutes. so I grabbed the camera...

Just the little ones, waiting for mom.

I like that Pete, we had barn swallows in our old milking barn back in the day. They showed absolutely no fear of us as they swooped in to feed their young just over our heads as we milked the cows.

Same here, these little ones were no more than 10 - 12 feet away, she came rigth in and fed them every few minutes. Cute little buggers...only two were there yesterday, they've all been kicked out of the nest today, so they are now on their own.

Really nice Pete - think it would have been sharper with diffused flash though.

I think you're probably right, I tried flash several times and always got overexposed shots, and didn't have my diffuser with me. It's in the camera bag now though...
