A couple of weeks with Samyang 85mm f1.4 · 02:57 AM

I've had the Samyang 85mm f1.4 for a couple weeks now and I haven't been disappointed. The depth effect can be really striking, although the field of view is a tad too narrow. I haven't been shooting film, but I'll have to try it soon. Here's a selection of the best shots from these few weeks.

BTW, if anyone can tell me how to do a proper focus trap with the K10D, please let me know. I had to keep tapping the shutter to get a shot, I'd rather just hold it down.

great depth! And I like bokeh on the last shot.

I noticed (and was surprised to see them) that white trees on the 1st shot - ...oh yes, you live in Finland!

by the way - how do you call that white trees in Finland?

(we call them "Beryozki"

)

Had never hear of a focus trap so I poked around. A fellow here seems to have the right idea, in theory. I'll need to test it myself.

Well call one a 'koivu'. Oh, and thanks for that link tybeck. Turns out I just had to switch over to M to get what I wanted. Here's a similar shot to the first one:

Wow ... the Smayang is not a bad lens at all ... this series is pretty damn good.
