Oogata Festival
Lens: Tamron SP 90mm Macro Camera: K200D Photo Location: Komaki, Aichi Pref, Japan
Posted By: chinotenshi, 07-03-2010, 04:43 AM

Back in March, my husband and I traveled out to Oogata Shrine in Komaki City. The shrine is one of two in the city that hold big fertility festivals in March. Its sister (maybe brother would be more accurate given the nature of the festival) shrine, Tagata Shrine, is the more famous of the two festivals.

But I had fun taking photos and trying out my new Tamron 90mm lens. Definitely need to get more practice in with taking crowd photos.

Any comments and critiques would be gladly accepted.

I think the second is the best- it's got an interesting perspective and great shadows.

Thanks Adam. That is probably my favorite shot from the entire day.

I love the lighting in the second shot, but there's just something about the girl peering under the arm at the camera that just grabs me in the first one!

Wonderful photos! Thanks for sharing!

Lovely series indeed !

I love #1 (but if maybe both of her eyes were visible it would be better still) and the lighting in #2 especially. Great DoF control in #8 makes that a very interesting shot.

Thanks! I loved the look on her face, I had to take it.

Thanks! I love using the fortunes tied around different objects (usually trees) at shrines for DoF experiments. This is probably one of my better attempts at it.
