A couple from this morning. This Robin seems to be working over the local bug and worm populations.

I think this is some sort of Swallow but I'm not sure about the particular species. Any ornithological suggestions?

Hey, Tom - these are marvelous. You certainly have the long lens chops!

Thanks for looking Jer.

The light was especially nice this morning. I've got to start getting up earlier.

Some very tasty looking shots there (sorry couldn't resist) !

Were these hand-held or on a tripod ?

I always use a monopd when working with my 400mm. I know I should use a tripod but I seem to have better success with a monopd. By the time I get a tripod set up when I'm birding the birds have usually taken off.

Thanks Georg.

Yes, he does have a mouthful doesn't he? That being said I think this guy from a shot I took last year wins the award for most worms in a single beak.

Thanks Dave.

Worm work – Yes, I’m carving out a niche for myself in this important and long neglected area of nature photography.

I was pleased with the colours as well. These exhibit the “robin’s egg blue” (no pun intended) typical of so many M series lenses.

Cheers

Thanks Jim.

I haven't been able to get out much of late and I'm looking forward to being more active this summer.
