Noticed a few Osprey's being posted lately. Here is one of mine from my trip to Montana this week shot with my Sigma 70-200 at 200mm and cropped. JIM

Nice shot Jimbo, especially at 200mm I wouldn't have guessed there were Osprey in Montana.

Thanks Tom. I was surprised too but after spotting this one I seen many more. One was even fishing but was too far to take a shot off. JIM

That's a helluva shot, my friend. Perfection defined. I always like your pics, but this one is off the scale.

I learned TWO things from your posting Jim; one, my coastal/river Ospreys hang out in Montana, two, my shots today at 510mm look like so much crap compared to this. Was he dead? Panhandling for fish? He let you THAT close....do you LOOK like an Osprey per chance?

I apologize if you take that as an insult. I'm just so bummed about my Osprey shots after seeing this. Good hunting!

Too funny. He was letting me know he was not happy with me being there. This was taken from my car and I was about 50 feet away. There was another one in the nest but it did not pop its head out. Maybe this one was watchig over the other. My Sigma 70-200 does a great job if the light is good. Cheers bud. JIM

I have seen enough of your shots with all types of lenses to know its not the lens thats doing such a great job. ....not the camera body either. You create many great opportunities then do an even better job taking advantage of them. I'll stop here, my arm is cramping up from patting you on the back.
