He's One Shell of a Guy
Lens: DA 55-300 @ 300 Camera: K20D Photo Location: Swampy Damp Hot Texas ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/250s Aperture: F8

This character wandered across our backyard this morning and I ran out to grab a shot - his (or her) nose is a little soft, but I'm happy with what I got, since it was hand held, shake reduction was off (accidentally) and I was swarmed with mosquitoes.

The soft nose in this case doesn't take away from the shot. And really, from here it looks sharp. Of course I don't have my glasses on.

Red eared slider. I have two of them in tanks. One is about 24 years old now. Can't remember exactly when I got it.

Having a soft spot for turtles, I can't help but love this photo. The turtle's eyes are very expressive, and beautiful colors.

Nice photo Jer! Doesn't matter about the nose too much; the eyes are in focus and that's what's most important.

cheers

Thanks, Jason - I appreciate the kind words. I'm paying a price for this photo this morning by having to scratch a new crop of mosquito bites!
