THanks Adam. These are really tough to get close to so shooting with my 70-200 is a bit interesting. JIM

Man, I dig the texture in the bird's wings in the first shot. Neat shot, buddy.

Way to go Jim.

You get the boy scout nature badge for sneaking up on this guy with a 200mm lens. Doesn't look like you had a lot of cover.

Shot out my car window about 20 feet away. Took me 30 minutes to get that close. JIM

20 feet? It's impossible to get that close to these guys. I figure I'm lucky to get within 50 feet...Can't wait till the water at the photo blind comes up and I can get some water bird shots. Local Wildlife Management Area has a decent photo blind over a pond, loads of water birds sometimes but right now it's bone dry. That really sucks, I've been really missing it since I got the K-x...

Very nice shots, I like both. The poses are both excellent, and just about any good shot of a Heron is OK with me.

When the water comes back I should be able to get Great Blues, Tricolors, Little Blues, Greens and maybe a Yellow Crowned Night Heron will show up again. He's a rare visitor though...

Too funny. I took awhile to get that close and shooting from my car. [Big Blind] The fall is a great time to shoot birds in this area. Looking forward to seeing some of your work. JIM
