I was trying to show the slow circular current flow by shooting a longish exposure of the bubble trains in this side pool along a river, and am pretty happy with the scene as a black&white. The white "bathtub" ring is dried algae draped over the rocks after the water level dropped, almost like along a tidal shoreline.

Very nice composition and I think your B&W conversion works well.
