Thanks Mike, great series, have a distant relative who fought there, was in
1st corps, stepped off with Hooker that morning, in the corn field.
Can remember hearing the stories from my grandmother, to whom they were
passed down to, from her grand-father, person I mentioned.

Did you have a chance to locate spots were Brady reps photographed?
Gardner, O'Sullivan etc.( besides the bridge)

A great book that I read a while back, By William Frassanito called Antietam
might be of interest to you, details photographic operations after the battle.

Such a beautiful image. Perhaps we can go out and shoot together some time so I can capture such beauty...

Really, are there any post-processing tips you can share or is the simple answer, get a K7?
From what I've seen you are doing quite well there Chuck. Regardless I'd love to go shooting with you sometime. And I will be planning some kind of social activity this fall so hope you can attend that as well.

As for post processing, the first one with the flowers in the foreground required a little dodging to lighten up the foreground which was a bit dark compared to the rest of the scene. The second one required virtually NO PP.

Both great Mike - the perspectives with this UWA lens are awesome.
#1 stands out with such colour and vibrancy.
Well done and thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ash. I do love that lens and Mel and I fought over it all day (just kidding Mel... LOL). It's definately on my LBA list right after the DA*300mm.

Great images, Mike! I, too, wish I had been able to make it out there this year... I hope to include the 4th Annual in my plans for 2011
Thanks Bud... Wish you'd been there too. There were lots of bugs for you to shoot. LOL

Bill, Thanks for the info. I'm sure the stories were harrowing. Didn't think to look for the brady sites, we were only there in the afternoon but that is a neat idea. I live close enough that it could be a worthy project. Will check out the book you mentioned.

Sounds like a nice trip... Certainly lots to see and do What are you hoping to shoot in DC? A couple of interesting spots that are often overlooked are the Arboretum and the National Cathedral.

Thanks! It was a real privilege to try it out and I really appreciate Sigma's generosity of sending 10 demo lenses to the gathering. Wish you'd made it out.

Did the National Cathedral, but missed the Arboretum.

Here's one for the thread... The road was closed for paving so I took the trail and was the only one there...

Nice shots, Mike. I like the fish-eye perspective on the first one.
