Mantis on glass...
Posted By: Vertex Ninja, 08-19-2007, 08:29 PM

... Well not really glass, It was actually the hood of my car. Colors and contrast were only slightly edited to make everything black and some dust(actual not sensor) was cloned out.

I've been looking in my yard all summer for a mantis. Last night when I went outside to get the mail. I caught him hanging out in our front flower bed from the corner of my eye. It was 9:30 PM and dark, so I captured him in a jar and photographed him/her this morning.

C&C Welcome

K10D with Vivitar S1 105 2.5

Whoa! That first photo made me jump! I'm sidetracking here, but how many coats of wax are on your car?!

Wow! Thanks for the kind responses everyone.

Alvin: Ha ha. The funny thing is that my car isn't even black! It's a slate blue metallic. I thought, "wow... blue and green would look great together!" My car was in a dark garage though and when I the flash fired I ended up with this. Funny how the result can surprise you sometimes.
