Medieval village [7 photos]
Lens: 18-55mm kit and 50mm 1.7 Camera: K-7 Photo Location: Turin (Italy) ISO: 100

First experience (with a DSLR) taking photos to buildings. No great results
The location was probably not the best choice because this medieval village recostruction (www.borgomedioevaletorino.it) has few open spaces, and the weather was quite often cloudy.
I've used two lenses:
1) kit lenses 18-55mm WR
2) asashi 50mm 1.7

(1) 50mm F/?? 1/4000

(2) 50mm F/?? 1/4000

(3) 50mm F/?? 1/5000

click to go to the flick page

(4) 18-55mm F/5.6 1/160

click to go to the flick page

(6) 18-55mm F/5.6 1/250

(7) 18-55mm F/5.6 1/30

To me the sixth is the best. The squarely facing architecture details work best (I think) when something is there to break the uniformity of the composition. Wide is probably more useful in these situations.

You are right,... perhaps I should had used more the 18-55mm at 18mm ... I'll give it a try again when I'll be there next time!
