Another great macro Tanner.

BTW, you have probably answered this question before but why do you chose to work with the shorter FL of the 28/3.5 over your Sigma 105 or even your 50/1.2 for that matter? Is it that the 28/3.5 is sharper reversed or just easier to work with? More DOF?

I don't know if your aware but I have been quite a lens nut when it comes to macro lenses and have tried quite a few different ones. I have yet to try the reversal technique which seems to work VERY well.
Anyway, I have a new lens in the mail and and once I get it I'm back in business. I'm going to settle down and give you and Rense a run for the money.
Thanks!
The reason I used the 28mm was because I needed a lot of magnification since the spider was so small. I use a reversed 50mm only for when the subject is larger, yet to small for the macro lens and extension tubes. The M 50mm F/1.7 (I dont use the F/1.2 because of its weight) is actually noticeably sharper reversed... infact I probably should have used it as this jumper would have done fine with that amount of magnification. Actually I get less DOF

Yes I am aware of your macro lens fetish I much prefer reversing to 1:1 macro lenses. I've had a play with a few different types (tamron, my sigma, canon), and I quite simply would rather shoot with the reversed prime on extension tubes (and do..). 1:1 is never enough magnification, and they are to large for any practical flash setup so yeah

Hey I always enjoy some competition

Great shots, I like the framing out of just the essential, good detail!
