Green frogs hunting on Day Lillies?
Camera: K200d Photo Location: Backyard
Posted By: Jools, 07-31-2010, 09:06 PM

I spent part of the afternoon taking minimalist macro shots of Day Lillies and testing my new macro focusing rail, when I came upon these fellows. Something tells me the frogs just weren't resting but hunting for food. Maybe I screwed up their plans? Perhaps others with more knowledge can enlighten me.
Please, all comments are welcome.

The first taken at 400 ISO, 1/60, f11 with a Pentax SMC Takumar Macro 50mm f4 and a combination of extension tubes and a hacked teleconverter.

Second taken at 200 ISO, 1/6, f16 with a Spiratone 135mm f2.8 and extension tubes and a hacked TC.

And thirdly, taken at 200 ISO, 1/10, f16 with a Spiratone and tubes and the hacked TC.

Very interesting series! I especially like the last because of the beautiful colors and composition!

Nice captures! The last one please me most probably because both nose and eyes are sharp. Great color combination.

Wonderful colours! Love that green against the orange-red!

Thanks for all the replies.
Yeah, I thought the third was the strongest from the begining.
And the colors were to die for in the viewfinder too.
Thanks again.
