Here's what I've been up to for the past month

Checked out the local Balloonfest. It was really windy, so the launches were limited. Ballons with the K10D and DA16-45.

Watched some great tennis at the Cincinnati ATP event with the F*300/4.5
Baghdatis... if you enjoy the game, you've gotta love this guy...

Chased a few butterflies with the F*300/4.5...
Male Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

This is what a Black Swallowtail Butterfly looks like through the Vivitar 105/2.5... right before it becomes...

Found a really whacky Praying Mantis with the Vivitar 105/2.5

And a couple of Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds with the F*300/4.5
Nectaring from Tithonia (Mexican Sunflower)

And one shakin' a few tail-feathers

And one more... got the chance to see a certain Dweezil playing some amazing renditions of his dad's incredible music from a few.... well maybe more than a few... years ago. Great concert!

The insect images are exceptional. Were the ballon pictures taken in Middletown?

You have some nice glass and you use it very well, nice photos.
The big guy upstairs broke the mold after he made Frank but Dweezil is cool!

Thanks! And... yes the balloon shots are from the Middletown, Ohio 2007BalloonFest at Smith Field. The weather didn't cooperate this year, but it's a great event for the community.

You're absolutely right... Frank was one-of-a-kind... but the Dweez is doing a really nice job of exposing a new generation to the sounds of Frank and The Mothers of Invention. I highly recommend checking out the show if you get a chance

Very good quality shots. I love the bird shaking the tail feathers - very unique shot!

Nice series of shots! The hummingbird shots are excellent. I saw Frank Zappa perform many years ago, it would be fun to hear what his son is up to these days.
