Canadian Geese
Lens: DA* 300mm Camera: K7 Photo Location: SF Bay ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F4
Posted By: SanMat, 08-06-2010, 08:11 AM

Also posted this over on dpr. Normally prefer "in flight" shots but I thought this one had some interesting detail. Shutter speed was actually 1/640 sec., not 1/500, but that wasn't an option for posting.

C&Cs welcome,

Pete

Fantastic shot! Clear, sharp, and with nice, neutral colors. I also like the vignetting effect!

Great shot...quite different.

BTW, more then one Canada Goose, is not Canadian Geese.

Canada Geese is plural....Canada Goose is singular.

Thanks Adam,

I added a little vignetting in LR2 to try to get the bird to stand out a bit more. Thought the gray background could use a little help. Glad you liked it.

I hate canadian geese. I lived in rochester, NY for a few years and those damn things are so loud and annoying like 10 kg pigeons.

A grammar lesson from someone who mixes up "then" and "than"..

It is a good photo! The Goose doesn't have very good table manners tho.

Yes, they are messy. But occasionally they do make for good photos. Glad you liked it.
