Exploring Montreal
Camera: K20D Photo Location: Montreal
Posted By: Dubesor, 08-07-2010, 10:17 AM

As part of my 2-month photo wandering tour last winter, I spent some time in Montreal exploring its urban environments. A longer description of my city photography project can be found here.

While most of the shots from the trip have yet to be sorted or processed, here are a few I finally got around to:

1) "Mottled". Found at school playground.
Pentax K20D + RMC Tokina 28/2.8 (M42). ISO 200. 1/25s.

2) "Tunnel Vision"
Pentax K20D + EBC Fujinon 55/1.8 (M42). ISO 320. 1/20s.

3) "Mont Royal"
Pentax K20D + SMC Takumar 50/1.4 (M42). ISO 400. 1/10s.

4) "Retro Pulp Fiction Dispenser". Spotted in public library.
Pentax K20D + EBC Fujinon 55/1.8 (M42). ISO 500. 1/125s.

5) "Winter Cold"
Pentax K20D + SMC Takumar 50/1.4 (M42). ISO 200. 1/80s.

6) "Red" ... makes me miss the amazing nightlife there.
Pentax K20D + RMC Tokina 28/2.8 (M42). ISO 3200. 1/20s.

7) "Igloo by Night" ... ice structure built for Igloo Fest (a great dance party in the snow)
Pentax K20D + RMC Tokina 28/2.8 (M42). ISO 3200. 1/640s.

8) "Untitled" ... snowed-in bike for my ICYCLES series
Pentax K20D + RMC Tokina 28/2.8 (M42). ISO 1000. 1/25s.

9) "Stairs"
Pentax K20D + RMC Tokina 28/2.8 (M42). ISO 1600. 1/20s.

10) "Probosci"
Pentax K20D + RMC Tokina 28/2.8 (M42). ISO 320. 1/10s.

11) "Winter Charms"
Pentax K20D + RMC Tokina 28/2.8 (M42). ISO 200. 1/25s.

12) "Cold | Warm" ... I think the soft focus actually aids this shot.
Pentax K20D + RMC Tokina 28/2.8 (M42). ISO 1000. 1/5s.

Nice set ;-)

I'd prefer a better composition in 6, 7 (the main igloo would be better isolated IMO) and 12 (more space on the right).

I agree for #7 and #12, but personally I like #6 just the way it is. In fact, I cropped it like that on purpose.
