Say hello to my little friend
Posted By: Mr Hyde, 08-22-2007, 05:00 PM

His name is Bert. I had been waiting literaly months for a Bigma that I had on order. It arrived on Monday. Its been raining here since late Sunday so I havent really had a chance to go out and use the lens. Bert was a captive subject so to speak. So here is my photo with my new lens. Not the best exposure. I tired to make an adjustment with the brightness but its still lacking a bit. The left side of the photo was cropped to remove some of the cage bars. Lens info is 500mm @ f6.7, 1/180, ISO 200 with bounce flash.

So say hello to my little friend.....

Well Hello! It's a nice lens and having had one for a few months now I think you'll enjoy it. Not too bad in the balance and handling either but you'll come to really appreciate the SR for sure.

Pretty good picture here as well. Tough shot for any lens with the contrast around the eye and the darker body. But nice and sharp. I recently got one of the Lightshpere diffusers and it makes a huge difference in getting rid of the blown highlights with the flash.

Hey little buddy, quite the perfect model aren't you? Did you know that models get a pay/seed rise?
Thanks for posting.

Nice sharp detail. I'm looking forward to purchasing a Bigma at some point in the not-too-distant future. Thanks for posting.

Mr Hyde, I wouldn't usually open a thread with a title like yours. However I do trust you

Bert looks like a nice friend. Thanks for sharing him with us.

I hope that the weather clears up for you soon.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I actually got a chance to take some photos of the moon the other night with the Bigma. I'll post one up when I have a spare moment..

Fantastic. I haven't used the Bigma with flash, not a bad idea.

Actually Bert has quite the vocabulary. He is most talkative when alone. He sounds like several people having randon conversation from a few rooms away
