One peace of 10 stop welding glass infront of you lens makes for a $2 ND filter

Wow. That changes things up quite a bit. Was there any PP or was that all the glass? Great photo.

It looks like a two tone gradient filter from PS, but if that's filter.... brilliant! I need to get myself some

uh stupid question, where would you buy this? I'm assuming it's from the visor of the headgear welders use?

Anyone wanna buy like $300 worth of Singh Rays?

Any welding supply shop should have welding glass in a wide variety of shades. Even your local Canadian Tire might have a limited supply. The glass is a wear item in welding applications and you have to replace it periodically as it gets damaged - I have a stack of filters left over from my grandfather's days as a welder but I haven't tried them over a lens.

I see they're available here for $2.25/ea: weldingdepot.com

They have a $25 minimum order requirement, but they also have 10 different "shades" to choose from - Shade 5 through 14. Think I might give this a try

This news should send the filter makers into a panic. $25 would give a guy a lifetime supply of filters and a lot of fun to boot.

It's a great idea! I'll give it a try, here in the Netherlands. Just have to find a store where I can get some welding glass.
