What a lovely series. I especially like #1, #4, and the last one. The river appears to have recently flooded, as the bent-over bank grasses would seem to indicate. And I'm intrigued by those structures across the river, like flooded stepping stones, in that last shot. Are they erosion control structures?

I like the photos but the extra thick black frames are very distracting to me.

Thanks Tamia, yes we have had a fair bit of rain lately so the river has been running fairly high.

The stepping stones are stepping stones....they are part of a walking track that heads across the river - as you can imagine i gave that a bit of a miss

- i dont normally put black frames on photos, but for these i thought the black gave some extra depth to the photos

If they work for you, go with it. For me, they're a little overpowering. Maybe it's the mix of the subject and frame. I think I get where you were going though, kind of a shadowbox effect in which case, the frames would need to be even larger. Then again, maybe I'm wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.
