Took a hike at Rockwood Conservation area yesterday evening. The light wasn't stellar, but the water was calm.

My only regret was that I left my 400mm at home and so naturally, a green heron decided to do some hunting within 15' of me. Hopefully he's there next time I go.

Anyways, on to the pics:

Over-exposed on the rock-face a bit, but I still liked the refelction

After this shot, I rotated it, played with the contrast and hue to make the 'face' I saw a bit more prominent

Lovely shots of a lovely area. The calm water made for great reflections and you made the best of it.

Having said that, I would have cried after missing the heron.

Nifty little falls. Where is the Rockwood C. A.?

Thanks Tom. I nearly did cry after the heron....but I did curse myself a few times.

Rockwood's about 20 minutes east of Guelph on Highway 7. The conservation area itself is just off the highway 7 and well marked. Here's the web-site for it: GRCA - GRCA Conservation Areas - Rockwood -. It's one of the nicest areas around here and the herons (green and great blue) seem to be a little more comfortable around people there than usual.
