barrier series (revisited)
Lens: FA43 Camera: K-x Photo Location: Limerick, Ireland ISO: 200 Aperture: F4

Way back when I bought my K100D Super I did a "barrier" series of walls, fences and gratings in my neighbourhood. Now with the K-x I am out documenting the city in the same way.

I'm not too sure why I put these in the "abstract" category. I guess architecture and street didn't seem quite right.

nice documentary robin... i'm one of 'those' who loves to look at all the nuances of architecture... colors, patterns, deterioration..... that 43mm has those inimitable pentax colors.. and the sharpness (detail) is fantastic... (how much pp did you employ....) thanks for sharing... dave m

I love these kind of details, Robin. I particularly dig 242 for no reason that I can explain. Nice job, nice colors.

Here's a whole whack more. (A whack is a special Canadian measure, by the way.) I love shooting this kind of stuff. But it's one way to reveal the slight distortion inherent in the FA43. Thankfully PTLens comes to the rescue. Some may yet have slight perspective distortion. These were all shot hand-held and I didn't fixate on accuracy.

Thanks for the comments. I did a special outing to grab more, so they will be trickling in to the thread in batches.

As far as PP goes, I apply some sharpening and exposure correction (often a lot) in ACR. Images from the K-x (with extra NR and sharpening turned off) definitely need post-process sharpening. I have a standard PP in PhotoShop that includes some high pass detail enhancement, contrast adjustment, etc.
