My daughter started Jr high today and my son (my BABY!) was off to kindergarten

The first 2 are this morning, the bottom 2 are from last evening at the open house to see the classroom and meet the teacher.

Wow ... no school uniforms.
I remember when I went to school we all had to wear uniforms.

I really like the composition of the 2nd shot with the loyal family pet waiting/watching.

I agree - the dog picture is great. They all are, but that's something special. Good luck to the kids - enjoy the new adventure!

I love that dog one too... I just wish he had his ears up a little more so that he didn't look like a blob of fur. They were straight back because he was upset the kids were by the road (he's a herder/guard dog at heart) and because he could hear me behind him and he is not exactly crazy about the camera.

Great photos Colleen. As others have said the dog photo just tells the story but all of them are great. Nice shot of your daugther and I like the angle you used on the shot with your boy by the board.

I like the 2nd shot the best where the dog is on the right hand side and the children in a distance.

It is of a great composition

Nice series Colleen - I agree with all the classic loyal family pet watching the departure is a sweet pic. Very cute kids - Jr. High eh ....a cute girl you have there and that's about when my daughter starting bringing those things called 'boys' home . She has since graduated HS and I am almost use it now - almost that is ..keep the dog on guard

The doggey one for me as well.

If your dog is like mine, the ears are down because he is unhappy to see his two best pals leaving him behind after so much fun this summer.

Your photos are all great but the doggy photo captures his emotion like few that I've seen, what a wonderful photograph.

That shot with the dog is great. You can almost feel the emotion of a very sad dog as the children head off to school. Well done!
