Passion Flower
Posted By: HowLowCanYaGo, 08-30-2007, 08:43 PM

The Passion Flower is an exciting and beautiful plant which has become quite popular with gardeners in recent years. The plant is a fast-growing vine with dark green, glossy, glove-shaped leaves with three to five "fingers, and its flowers are exquisite, frothy purple confections with an extremely sweet and powerful scent. Some species then go on to produce the fruit known as Passion Fruit, whose flavor is common in tropical fruit drinks. The name "Passion Flower" comes from an early interpretation of the flower's complex structure as being symbolic of the passion of Christ.

If I might say so, these suckers are quite gorgeous.

You have done the "much vilified kit lens" proud with your photos. Keep it up and post plenty.

Somehow missed it the first time. Very good shots of this interesting flower. I'd never seen one before. Strange 'petals'. Nice sharp shots.

Composition wise, preferred the 2nd shot.

This flower is surely amazing. Very intriguing structure on its own - I was wondering if the flower was some kind of food decoration on top of the dishes ...

That is an interesting flower for sure and it looks huge . Very nice detail , I like the second shot best. How does it stand up to the elements ? (wind , rain)

The flower/plant produces Passion Fruit- It was found next to a dried marsh on accident.

I have never seen one for real, looks strange but interesting. The second one I think is the nicer one.
