While spraying my tomato plants for insects, i saw this guy munching on my tomato leaves.

i clipped the tomato brach he was on and moved him to an oak tree branch, after taking pictures, of course

at this stage, these creatures eat and damage plants.
ironically, once they turn into butterflies, they pollinate plants.

The first shot is especially satisfying. Nice differentiation of the caterpillar's head from the background both by in/out of focus and relative lighting.
